The Heart of any Small Town is its General Store.
The local general store is a thing of the past, a vanishing icon. Many years ago people didn't go to the super store to do their shopping. There was no such thing as a shopping mall. Residents of towns went to the general store for just about anything they couldn't grow. Townspeople not only shopped at the general store but went there to socialize, gossip and catch up on the latest news. The general store was the eyes and ears of every town with its porches and chairs inviting people to set-a-spell.

The Town
The Village of Rockland is an old soul. This former oil town was founded in 1809. The first recorded settler was John Watt who settled here with his family. He was originally from Butler County.
Rockland is not only picturesque, but it is a prime spot for camping and hunting.
